Studio Policies 2022-23

Semester Payments:

  • There are four terms each year: September – mid-November, mid-November to January, February – mid-April and mid-April- June
  • Payments will be made at or before the first lesson of the semester.
  • Payment can be made by Stripe (Invoice sent) Revolut, Bank Transfer or Cash. Cash payments must include the correct change and placed in an envelope labelled with the student’s name.
  • There is a €50 registration fee payable when registering (€30 per sibling/immediate family member). This holds your spot in the studio and goes towards the cost of books and materials throughout the year.
  • Fees cover the cost of tuition, all materials, studio licenses, method and supplementary books (except for exam books), access to the best and most contemporary resources, a library of manipulative games and CPD courses. Each student receives their own copy of any method/supplementary books. Optional events (exams) will be paid for by the parent/student.

Monthly Payments:

  • Payments will be made at or before the first lesson of each month.
  • The monthly payment is divided evenly between the 10 months from September to June inclusive.

Schedule:

  • Lessons are scheduled at a mutually agreed day and time when the student has completed registration.
  • If a student/parent wishes to change their lesson time during the year this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. A different time slot is subject to availability cannot be guaranteed.
  • Tuition also includes student workshops arranged by me during the year and a recital opportunity.

Missed Lessons:

  • If a student will be missing their lesson for any reason, please inform me via text or email with as much notice as possible so we can organise a video or online lesson.
  • If for any reason the teacher has to cancel a lesson, they will offer a make-up lesson at a suitable time.
  • In the case of mild illness (cough, cold, etc) or inclement weather, lessons will be done online via Zoom, Whatsapp, Messenger video call or other video messaging service.
  • Unfortunately due to scheduling it is not possible to offer make-up lessons.
  • With regards to absences from Kids Music Club/Group Lessons, fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another session

Punctuality:

  • Due to the current COVID situation, please do not arrive early for your lesson. I have to sanitise between lessons and air out the room.
  • The time between lessons is also when I prepare for upcoming lessons, take phone calls, etc and I will not be able to start the lesson early.
  • If a student is late this simply takes time out of the lesson, i.e. the lesson will start when the student arrives and will still finish at the same time.

Flexiblity( this applies to individual lessons only, not Kids Music Club or Group activities): Online, In-Person or a Hybrid of the two!

  • For families with time constraints or difficulties arriving on time due to heavy traffic, inclement weather, family scheduling conflicts, etc the option of online tuition is available. I have been exclusively teaching online since March 2020 and if you wish to see how this works I’d be more than happy to schedule a video call. I’m more than happy to accommodate your requirements.
  • The registration form for 2022-23 can be found here.
